Trying Something New
After my cancer journey, I was open to trying almost anything that could help detox my body. While on vacation, a friend wanted to try a sweat spa and I went along for the adventure. We signed up for an infrared sauna experience, something I had never heard of before. You wear long sleeves, long pants, and cotton socks inside the sauna wrap. I hated sweating and was thinking, what did I get myself into? I used to joke that I didn’t sweat, I only glistened.

Pushing Through the Sweat
Halfway through, I pulled my leg out, took off my socks, and kept checking the clock, willing myself to make it to the end. But I did it. That afternoon I had one of the best naps of my life. My body felt incredible and I slept better than I had in years. That one infrared sauna experience made a big impact on my fatigue and fibromyalgia symptoms. I couldn’t believe sweating for thirty minutes could make such a difference.
